Ayudanica Partnership Programs
Ayudanica creates partnerships with local schools, businesses, and individuals that share the Ayudanica experience with our surrounding community and allow its members to work with us in gathering needed supplies. To find out more about these programs, please contact us at info@ayudanica.org.
School Partnership Programs
Ayudanica maintains partnership relationships with elementary, secondary and post secondary schools in an effort to share the mission of the project with students of all ages. Through our School Partnership Programs, Ayudanica brings the culture and an awareness of the important development issues of Nicaragua directly into the classroom, sharing with teachers and students stories, photos, and opportunities to help.
Currently, Ayudanica offers two forms of School Partnership Programs: 1. The Literacy for All Program; and 2. The Community Awareness Program.
Literacy for All is a partnership program designed to introduce schools at the elementary and high school level to the problems of illiteracy and lack of educational opportunity in poor rural communities in Nicaragua and to provide them with ways to contribute to a solution. Members of the Ayudanica staff and our youth volunteer teams visit local partnership schools to share stories and photos that help students gain an understanding of the people and culture of Nicaragua. Through interactive presentations, the Ayudanica team also details the educational problems encountered by children and youth in Nicaragua, particularly those of Monte Rosa, Nicaragua.
The Literacy for All program consist of two sub-programs in which partnership schools may participate: 1. The Books Pals Program; and 2. The Read-A-Thon Program. Each of these programs provide an opportunity for students at our partnership schools to help Ayudanica gather much needed books and educational resources for the Ayudanica Community Learning Center in Monte Rosa, Nicaragua. These partnership programs connect local elementary school children to the children of Monte Rosa through activities that allow them to learn more about one another while helping to gather resources for the Ayudanica library. To find out more about these programs, please contact us at info@ayudanica.org.
The Community Awareness Program provides opportunities for non-team members in the surrounding community to participate in specific educational programs designed to create awareness on special topics that include Latin American and Nicaraguan culture, globalization, free trade, sweatshops, international economic policy, living wages, fair trade and related social justice issues. To find out more about this programs and how you, your school, business, or organization can get involved, please contact us at info@ayudanica.org.
